Carl Smith, Planning Specialist / Grant Writer (907) 246-4224, by fax at (907) 246-6633. The Planning and Zoning Commission is a seven-member board (five commissioners and two alternates). They are appointed by the Mayor of the Bristol Bay Borough and serve as an advisory body to the Borough Assembly. It is their responsibility to serve as the Borough's Platting Board and assist in the implementation of the various planning documents of the Borough. This is done through the conduct of public hearings and recommendations to the Borough Assembly regarding proposed land development issues. The Planning and Zoning Commission meets the second Tuesday of each month, except for July.

Community Development
The Community Development Department is charged with the administration of the land use functions of the Borough. This includes the development, implementation, and enforcement of the zoning ordinance, subdivision ordinance, comprehensive plan, coastal zone management plan; as well as mapping, site development permitting, and public/community assistance to enrich the lives of our community.
